The only thing you need is a germination jar, a plate and unhulled and germinable hemp seeds. It is important that the hemp seeds do not come from outside the EU, because these seeds usually have to be rendered germinable.
1. soak
Depending on the size of the sprouting jar, wash approx. 2 tablespoons of the hemp seeds and then place them in the sprouting jar filled with water or in a bowl. Leave the seeds there to soak for approx. 6 hours in a dark place.
2. germination
After the soaking time, pour away the soaking water and rinse the seeds with new water. Then pour off the water again and place the germination jar with the grid lid tilted sideways to drain. As hemp is a dark germinator, the germination jar should be placed in a dark place.
3. rinsing
During the germination period, the hemp seeds should be at least twice a day rinsed. To do this, pour fresh water over the sprouts and tilt the jar so that the sprouts can untangle and soak up the water. After a few minutes, pour off the water completely and tilt the sprouting glass sideways again.
4. harvesting:
After about 3 to 4 days, the hemp sprouts are finally ready for harvesting. If you do not eat the sprouts immediately in salads or other dishes, you can store them in the refrigerator for a few days.

Sprouts are not only a culinary enrichment, but also a full of vitamins, minerals, living enzymes and active antioxidants. Thus, sprouts as a mix of vital substances are a boon for our body. In addition, no food can be consumed as fresh as home-grown sprouts. Hemp sprouts are also gluten-free and vegan.
During the germination process, sprouts multiply their nutrient content and are especially rich in vitamin B1, B2, niacin as well as vitamin C and E. The secondary plant substances in sprouts and shoots also have a positive effect on the Immune system and cholesterol and blood sugar levels off. The anti-inflammatory effect of the hemp seeds is further improved in the form of sprouts.

The only thing to consider is hygiene. Sprouts feel at home wherever bacteria like to live. It is therefore advisable to always rinse the sprouts well and not to store them for too long. Pregnant women, children and people with weak immune systems are therefore advised to eat heated sprouts.
